Eye Health & Vision

Did you know Omega 3 can improve vision?

Omega 3 fatty acids have been shown to benefit eye health. Cleanmarine supplies easily absorbed EPA and DHA as well as a powerful anti-oxidant Astaxanthin:

DHA is known for its support of vision and can help in reducing sight degeneration.

Astaxanthin provides an anti-oxidant shield against retinal damage from UV light

Studies suggest that omega 3 can protect our eyes from cataracts, retinopathies, dry eye syndrome, toxic molecule build-up in the retina and high eye pressure and glaucoma.

Clear vision depends on tiny capillaries that supply the eye with nutrients and oxygen.

Poor food choices can contribute to weak vision, dry-eye syndrome, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), high eye pressure, glaucoma, cataracts, retinopathies and more. However, research suggests a diet rich in colourful produce, leafy greens, nuts and seeds, whole grains, lean protein and healthy fats can protect our peepers.

Food sources of eye-friendly nutrients include papaya, bell peppers, strawberries and broccoli (vitamin C); sunflower seeds, almonds, spinach and swiss chard (vitamin E); sweet potatoes, carrots, kale and turnip greens (beta-carotene); venison, beef, sesame and pumpkin seeds (zinc); and kale, spinach, turnip greens, romaine lettuce, broccoli and Brussels sprouts (lutein and zeaxanthin).

Omega-3 fatty acids benefit vision, too. Cold-water fish and krill oil are rich in EPA and DHA, the omega-3 forms our bodies can use most directly. As our seas (and seafood) are so polluted, krill oil supplements might be a better choice. Krill are tiny phytoplankton-eating crustaceans. Antarctic krill (used in Cleanmarine) encounter minimal pollution, so their oil is clean. Krill oil contains astaxanthin, a potent antioxidant that prevents rancidity and creates a shield against retinal damage from ultraviolet light. The omega-3s in krill oil are phospholipids. Our cell membranes are too. Absorption is excellent, so fewer capsules are needed to get results.
